Hitachi's 3540 - Low Density Optical Line Terminal

The Hitachi Salira 3540 is a low-density version of the 2550 Optical Line Terminal (OLT) for use at the headend side of the network.

The Salira OLT 3540 contains two PON links, each capable of supporting a maximum of 64 Optical Network Units (ONUs). This fully-featured, pizza box style OLT enables the same IP-based triple play applications supported by our high-density OLT including High-Speed Internet, VoIP, and IPTV services. The Salira 3540 can function as a multi-service platform to transport CATV/TDM/POTS services when connected to appropriate third party equipment. The Salira OLT 3540 is ideally-suited for pay-as-you-grow and less dense (e.g., rural) deployments. It can also be used to enable service delivery from more remote locations like corporate campuses or environmentally-controlled Points of Presence (POP) where space may be at a premium.
